With temperatures dropping
below freezing in some areas, it
may be necessary to bring in
potted plants, and cover plants
that may not be quite so freeze
tolerant. One species that
comes to mind instantly is the
Christmas palm. This
decorative tropical palm tree,
will definitely freeze if given the
chance.
Refrain from trimming back
foliage right before a freeze.
The more canopy there is to
catch the setting frost. The less
likely it is that it will reach the
plant's core.
